Dialogue + Design Associates, in partnership with the VA Dept. of Environmental Quality, Carndo Inc., and local communities, facilitated the implementation of two Small Community Grants from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The purpose of this grant was to bring technical assistance, research, and training to facilitate the revitalization of brownfields in Buchanan, VA as well as an area of Southwest Virginia around brownfield reuse and revitalization. One of the key components of this project focused working with members of the community to explain the overarching goal of brownfield revitalization, including using an online Social Pinpoint mapping tool for regional virtual collaboration.
